HOLIDAY POLICY
 

I will be closed the Following Holidays:

 

  • New Year’s day

  • Martin Luther King day

  • Presidents day

  • Patriots day

  • Memorial day

  • Fourth of July

  • Labor day

  • Columbus day

  • Veterans day

  • Thanksgiving day and the day after Thanksgiving,

  • Christmas Eve and Christmas.

 

     These are paid Days off throughout the year

OPEN DOOR POLICY

 

At “Neighborhood Family Child Care”, you can always be assured that the door is open to you at any time your child is in care. Please keep in mind there may be times when it is not convenient for me to run to the phone. (i.e. diaper changing, bottle feeding, etc.) If the phone goes unanswered, please do not become alarmed. Simply leave me a voice mail and I will call as soon as I am able. You may also communicate with me, via email. There may be those times when something comes to you at work

that you don’t want to forget to relay to me. If you have an email, please feel free to e-mail me and I will generally reply during rest time. My e-mail is, Amanda_palmer7@aol.com.

SUPERVISION

 

Supervision is critical to keeping children safe.  I and any assistants I might add in the future will appropriately supervise children in order to ensure their health and safety at all times.  I will use good judgment and consider several factors in determining the appropriate level of supervision for children including age, developmental needs, behavioral characteristics, the nature of activities and the space we are using, as well as the number of caregivers present at any given time. If you have any questions about how I supervise the children in my program, feel free to ask me.

PROGRAM HOURS

 

My daycare is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with the exception of days off listed in this handbook and contract. When you enroll in my daycare I will ask you for specific hours you plan for your child(ren) to attend. Although I am open from 7:00 - 4:30, I base your fee on the hours you contract for. Full time rates are based on 9 hours per day, Monday- Friday.

SICK POLICY

 

There are times when all children get sick.  My goal is to try and keep the day care as healthy as possible.  To do this, I must enforce a sick policy.  I can care for mildly ill children in my program, however there will be times when you will need to keep your children out of the program due to illness. I realize it is difficult for a working parent to take a day off from work, so if possible you might want to have back up care if your work schedule is not flexible.
